{"id":157,"date":"2010-01-31T02:04:30","date_gmt":"2010-01-31T10:04:30","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/interspacedesign.wordpress.com\/?p=157"},"modified":"2021-06-25T12:55:56","modified_gmt":"2021-06-25T19:55:56","slug":"ankor-wat-a-photo-journal","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/interspace-design.com\/blog\/ankor-wat-a-photo-journal","title":{"rendered":"Ankor Wat &ndash; A Photo  Journal"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">This is a photo journal of my trip to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.livescience.com\/23841-angkor-wat.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Angkor Wat<\/a>.\u00a0You have to be\u00a0there to experience the mist shrouded ruins and the monumental scale of the temples to appreciate\u00a0the architectural achievements\u00a0of the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.newworldencyclopedia.org\/entry\/Khmer_Empire\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Khmer empire<\/a>. Groan!! We&#8217;re just missing the Prince!<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">We visited <a href=\"https:\/\/www.wmf.org\/project\/preah-khan-temple\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Preah\u00a0Khan<\/a>\u00a0(Sacred Sword), a complex that was originally a Buddhist monastery built in\u00a01191 AD.\u00a0It\u00a0was vandalized\u00a0during the\u00a0Hindu resurgence in later centuries. As the second largest temple after Angkor Wat, it remained largely unrestored.
